Regional Definitions (for individual reports):

East: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont

South: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia

MidWest: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin

West: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming

Methods: Questionnaires requesting salary and fringe benefits information were mailed to all of the 1,160U.S. commercial (non-satellite) television stations in October, 2007. Of these, 327 stations returned useable questionnaires resulting in an overall response rate of 28.2%. In all, 28 tables have been prepared based on revenue categories, station type (affiliated, independent), and DMA rank and region of the country.
